Many have heard of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a few have paid attention.

But make no mistake – anybody who deals with personal data in the EU, let alone the potentially sensitive information we gather in audience measurement IS going to need to make changes to comply by May 25, 2018.

Quite simply data privacy and security must now be given the same level of investigation and protection that our industry applies to research standards and methodologies. We don’t just make it a contractual term or simply accept that suppliers get research right, we check and we verify. That now needs to extend to the processing of data.
